Data Privacy Statement of WESSLING Hungary Kft.

The subject matter of the present Privacy Statement is the data processing attributed to the functioning of WESSLING Hungary’s website, whereas the general rules of the data controller’s data processing is detailed in the General Data Protection Code that you can download at the end of the present Privacy Statement.

1.     Information about the collection of personal data

1.1    The following information relates to the collection of personal data during visits to our website. These are data which may be directly or indirectly connected to you personally, e.g. name, address, email addresses, patterns of usage.

1.2    The controller, as defined in Art. 4 (7) of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), is WESSLING Hungary Kft. with the registered seat in 1045 Budapest Anonymus utca 6. 1.3    If we rely on contracted service providers for individual functions of our contractual obligations, or if we would like to use your data submitted on our website for advertising purposes, we will inform you in detail about the respective processes below. In the latter case, your express consent will be requested, while we will always specify the term of storage in advance as well.

2.     Your rights

2.1      Your rights with regard to the processing of your personal data are as follows:

  • Right for information
  • Right of access
  • Right to modification (rectification) or erasure
  • Right to restriction of processing
  • Right to object to data processing
  • Right to data portability

2.2    You also have the right to file a complaint to the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information about our processing of your personal data, in case your inquiry that was submitted according to our General Data Protection Code was not answered in the given deadline or we failed to address it properly.

3.     Collection of personal data during the use of our website

3.1    If you visit our website for information purposes only, i.e. if you do not register or otherwise provide us with personal information, we only process the personal data which your browser automatically transmits to our server. If you wish to view our website, we will collect the following data which are technically necessary for us to display the content of our website to you and to guarantee stability and security (legal basis is Art. 6 (1) section 1 f) GDPR):

  • IP address
  • Date and time of the request
  • Time zone difference to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)
  • Content of the request (specific page)
  • Access status/HTTP status code
  • Volume of data transmitted in any given case
  • Website from which the request is sent
  • Browser
  • Operating system and its interface
  • Language and version of the browser software

3.2    In addition to the aforementioned data processing, but on the same legal ground cookies will also be stored on your computer when you use our website. Cookies are small text files which are stored on your hard drive and assigned to the browser you are using and through which certain information is sent to the body which places the cookie (to the operator of the website in this case). Cookies cannot run programs or transmit viruses to your computer. They serve to make the website easier to use and more efficient overall.

3.3    Use of cookies:

a)     This website uses the following types of cookies, the scope and functions of which are explained below:

  • Transient cookies (see b)
  • Persistent cookies (see c)

b)     Transient cookies are automatically deleted when you close the browser. These include the session cookies, which store a session ID with which various requests sent by your browser can be assigned to the common session. This will allow your computer to be recognised when you return to our website. Session cookies – similarly to other transient cookies – are deleted when you log out or close the browser.

c)     Persistent cookies are automatically deleted after a specified period which can vary depending on the cookie. Even before the specified period ends, you can delete cookies at any time in the security settings of your browser.

d)     We would like to highlight that you can also configure your browser settings as you wish and refuse the acceptance of third-party cookies or all cookies, for example. Please note that you may not be able to use all functions of this website in this case.

3.4    With regard to the data processing stipulated in the present clause the data controller prepared a detailed test on the balance of interests. The result of the test indicates that the data processing attributed to the use of our website is not only necessary, but also proportionate compared to the possible harm it may cause.

4.     Contact form

When you contact us by email or using a contact form, the data which you provide (your email address, where applicable your name and telephone number) will be stored by us in order to answer your questions. We delete the data provided in these cases once their processing is no longer necessary, or we restrict the data processing to storage if statutory retention obligations apply.

The legal basis for the processing of the data transmitted in the course of sending an email is Art. 6 (1) a) GDPR. If contact is made by email with a goal of entering into a contract, the additional legal basis for the processing is Art. 6 (1) b) GDPR.

5.     Customer portal

5.1    You can register to use our customer portal in which case you will be asked to provide personal data. 

The registration details will be recorded in writing in a process overseen by the customer advisor in charge of your account.

Registered customers can order analyses and view the results of their analyses through the customer portal. We also provide an online archive for the analyses previously carried out for the customer. b

5.2    When registering through a customer advisor, the form provided by the latter must be completed. The data will not be passed on to third parties. The following data will be collected and stored for each customer account which is set up in the course of the registration process:

In the course of the registration process, the user is asked to give consent to the processing of these data. As the user you have the option to revoke your consent given for data processing and to cancel your registration at any time.

5.3    If you use our portal, we store the data required to fulfil the contract until you finally delete your access. We also store the optional data provided by you for the duration of your use of the portal, unless you delete it beforehand. You can manage and change all the information in the secure area for customers.

If you place analysis orders through the customer portal, we are obliged under commercial and tax law to store your address details, payment details and order data listed in any invoice for a period of eight years. However, after two years we will place a restriction on the processing, i.e. your data will be used (stored) only to comply with the legal obligations.

The legal basis for the use of your data is Art. 6 (1) a) GDPR in cases where you have given consent and Art. 6 (1) b) GDPR in cases where contracts are concluded through the customer portal.

6.     WESSLING Cloud

6.1    The purpose of WESSLING Cloud is to support the exchange of large data quantities between registered users, which platform is accessible for you as well after submitting certain personal information (registration). The registration details will be recorded in writing in a process overseen by the customer advisor in charge of your account.

The WESSLING Cloud is used to exchange large amounts of data with registered customers. Expert reports and extensive analyses which are not suitable for sending by email can be sent to the customer via the WESSLING Cloud, for example.

6.2    When registering through a customer advisor, the form provided by the latter must be completed. The data will not be passed on to third parties (recipients). The following data will be collected and stored for each customer account which is set up in the course of the registration process:

In the course of the registration process, the user is asked to give consent to the processing of these data. Processing also includes sending an email to the email address which you have provided if we have entered new data for you. As the user you have the option to revoke your consent given for data processing and to cancel your registration at any time.

7.       Newsletter

7.1    In case you choose to subscribe to our newsletter-service, WESSLING Hungary Kft. will process your personal data until you unsubscribe from our mailing list, based on your expressed consent, strictly according to the said purpose of processing and Art. 6 (1) a) of the GDPR. In the latter case, the personal data that we have received will be automatically deleted from our system, and we will immediately contact the data processor responsible for providing the technological background of our newsletter-service so that it can act accordingly.

7.2    We chose to implement a double confirmation subscription process for our newsletter-services. The concept of such mechanism is that after you sign up, we will send a message to the e-mail address that you provided us, in which we will ask you to confirm your subscription to the newsletter. Additionally, we will also store your IP address, the time of your sign up and confirmation. The purpose of this process is to prove your sign up and to clarify the circumstances of any misuse of personal data, if necessary.

For the newsletter service, the only mandatory field to be completed is your e-mail address. The provision of all the additional data is voluntary, because we will only use those to personalize the salutation in the newsletter for you. If we receive your consent for data processing, we will store your e-mail address and other personal data that you shared for providing the newsletter service.

7.3    You are free to revoke your consent given for the delivery of our newsletter and to unsubscribe from our mailing list anytime. In order to unsubscribe, please click on the link provided at the end of every newsletter (1), or send an e-mail to the e-mail address highlighted in clause 1.2 of the present statement (2), or please contact us by writing a letter to the postal address given in our imprint (3).                                        

8.     Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). The Google Analytics service uses "cookies", which are text files placed on your computer enabling an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookies about your use of this website will generally be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. If you enable the IP address anonymity function on this website, however, then your IP address will be abbreviated beforehand by Google within Member States of the European Union and in other signatories to the Treaty on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and abbreviated there. Google will use this information on behalf of the operator of this website to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website traffic, and to provide other services for the website operator relating to the use of the website and the Internet.
