We planted 36 saplings as a result of the first virtual bicycle race of WESSLING

55 colleagues from the international network took part in the event, and together they cycled 7200 km in one week.

For the race we had two key objectives: climate protection and healthy lifestyle. Both objectives were reached, as in many countries of the WESSLING group the colleagues rode the bike and pedalled diligently (altogether 7200 km!). As a result, we bought and planted 36 saplings (a sapling for every 200 km).

“We would like to thank all the participants, in only seven days, it is a fantastic result” In the Circle of Human Resources we are very glad that our colleagues are so motivated and happily took part in this challenge, and collected so many kilometres. It was great performance and it proves the team spirit of WESSLING.” said Anna Wessling, head of the Circle.

The riders used the Strava application, where they could track the kilometres and could support each other. In the end 16 colleagues finished the 200 km distance (or more). The saplings will be planted in the coming weeks on the sites of WESSLING. Naturally, we will keep you informed.

In addition, the first three riders and the two winners of the lottery will be given own saplings, which they can plant in their own gardens, or wherever they wish.

The most kilometres in one week were collected by the following three colleagues:

Maria Heinrich 609 km (GER)

Alexander Gödeker 529 km (GER)

Wilhelm Storhas 485 km (GER)

And the winners of the lottery:

Agnieszka Żmijewska (PL)

Kocsisné Bárdos Györgyi (HU)

Thank you very much for your participation, and congratulations to the winners!
