WESSLING at McDonald’s cycling race

WESSLING took part in the McDonald’s BringaMánia Tour de Balaton cycling race not just as a sponsor, but our business development director, Dr. Szigeti Tamás János started in the grandiose sports event.

The bicycle event organised for several age groups was held on May 29 this year, for the seventh time, with the participation of 3000 riders, around Lake Balaton. During this trying tour (not race!) the riders pedalled around the lake clockwise.

WESSLING Knowledge Center has been participating in the event financed by McDonald’s for many years. This year we again felt it our duty to support Ronald McDonald House Charity Foundation, which can be found all around the world, in Hungary as well. The Ronald McDonald Houses provide homes for free for families where the child is undergoing long hospital treatment, far away from his/her home.

We are proud of our colleague, Dr. Szigeti Tamás János, not only for his many years of invaluable work at WESSLING, but also because he is an excellent sportsman, has completed many times for example the Ironman race, where the ‘ironmen’ ride 180 km on bicycle, run a marathon and swim 4 km. All in one day....

Our colleague raced in the McDonald’s team, the gross time for the 206 km was 11 hours, the actual race time was 9 and a half hours.

“The weather was changeable and windy, with no rain. Luckily, we did not have any flat tyres or accidents. I am glad I took part in the race and our donation contributed to the success of this excellent sports event” – said Szigeti Tamás.
